Our Journey, Mission, and Leadership
Named after the founding headmaster of the prestigious The Doon School in Dehradun, the Arthur Foot Academy (AFA) was a project undertaken by Mohd. Asad Khan, an ex-Dosco, over a decade ago as his way of giving back to the community by providing primary education to the children in Bandarjhud, a village that adjoins his farmlands in Uttarakhand, India. This venture has grown with the support of several well-wishers and AFA today provides quality education in the English medium from Nursery to Grade 7 to boys and girls. In the next few years, we aspire to take it up to Grade 12 and provide state-of-the art facilities.
Our mission at the Arthur Foot Academy is to provide quality, inclusive, and transformative education to the underprivileged children of Bandarjhud and its environs in Uttarakhand, by empowering them with the tools and skills to build a life of dignity, opportunity, and purpose. Our holistic approach combines academic excellence with life skills, creativity, and emotional and physical well-being, so that we can unlock the full potential of each child. By fostering hope, an excitement to learn, compassion and resilience, we aim to equip our students to become successful individuals and responsible citizens. We believe that every child has the right to dream and a fair chance to achieve those dreams.

The Arthur Foot Academy’s vision remains to transform the lives of every successive generation of students who pass through its doors so that they can go out and live successful lives, and bring progress to their communities. Above all, the school stands as a living model of education that is inclusive, relevant, and transformative—rooted in the rhythms of local life and the promise of a better future.
